Applications for Community Excursions (Tours) will be accepted from October until December 14, 2016.
If you are interested in becoming a host for a community tour please download the community excursion application below and send to firstname.lastname@example.org
Community excursions are intended as a conference reciprocity component to local Indigenous communities and programs allowing promotion and knowledge sharing to an international audience.
As part of the conference, the Conference Committee will provide space for local Indigenous programs / communities to host a community tour that profiles their community / educational partnerships, successes, promising practices and/or cultural knowledge. Experiential opportunities for delegates are encouraged. Experiential opportunities include, for example, a medicine walk, canoeing along the Grand River, family shelter tours, historical site, storytelling, health centre tours, cultural centre tours, or Indigenous food preparation. Sharing a service delivery is also an option, such as traditional healing practices, historical walks, outdoor education, tree planting, program best practices, and dance.
WIPCE co-hosts will provide coach bus transportation to community excursions from Toronto to ensure ease of access for conference deleagtes and the host of the tour.
Hosts of the community excursions will be posted here.
